CC and the Spades / Fruition Live at Lifesets

I had seen CC and the Spades already almost exactly a year ago so I knew chances were this was going to be a good show, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. CC has great stage presence, a fantastic voice and most importantly some genuinely good songs behind her, whilst the band fill in the remaining gaps perfectly. A couple of rather lo-fi recordings are available on their MySpace to give you a gist of what to expect, but they really are a band you need to catch live to experience properly.

Fruition also played last night and I have to say even though the tracks I heard on their MySpace didn’t get me too excited about seeing them they really were fantastic, I was happily surprised.

The gig was held at Battersea Barge for a night called Lifesets, an evening where bands and dj’s happily play (on a boat) for free to raise money for charity so check out their MySpace, add yourself and head down to the next one (I’m not just saying that because the DD Coys are rumoured to be playing, honest…).
